Politics, ACP, and CP News

Yesterday, Barack Obama, a Democratic Senator from Illinois, defeated Senator John McCain in the 2008 Presidential Election.  This is a historic event for the U.S., who elected the first African-American President in history.  Here’s to hoping he can turn this country around.

In ACP news, the leader situation is still in question, as Oagalthorp, the former ACP leader, current Leader Shaboomboom, and current 3rd in Command Jedimaster17 try to organize the government of ACP.  The current plan is that Shab and Jedi will lead as equal leaders for a week.  If this does not work, Shab will lead on his own for a week.  If this does not work, there will be an election.

In Club Penguin news, there appears to have been an avalanche in the Dojo:

There is also a mysterious penguin on the right side of the Dojo Roof.  Could it be a ninja?

Updates: My friend The Jungle N was looking at the Retirement Posts page recently and noticed that I was missing a copy of CollinZfresh’s retirement post from February.  For those of you who know, all of the older posts on the PRA site were deleted mysteriously after CollinZ retired.  Luckily for us, Jungle just happened to have a copy on his computer and has kindly given it to me.  So, big thanks to Jungle for this one.  I have also updated the page with newer retirement speeches, so go ahead and check it out!

PHILLIES!!

Well for those of you who did not know, the Phillies won the World Series yesterday!  Philadelphia hadn’t won a major sports championship in 25 years, so this was huge for the city.  Unfortunately it cause riots and crazy behavior.  Oh well .  Still makes me happeh!!

Today, after a tough and tight race for the ACP leader election, Jedimaster17 conceded victory to Shaboomboom.  In return, Shab has given Jedi the second Co-Leader spot.  This means I’m going to be Co-Leader as well!  Here’s the picture everyone has been waiting to see:

Hey guys.  As many of you may know, ACP is having elections for a new leader.  The primaries are over, and it’s time to get serious!  Each candidate left has won their party and will now pick a running mate to be a co-leader should they be elected.  I am happy to announce that Shaboomboom has named me his running mate!  So please vote for Shab and me when the voting begins.  I will have the poll up as soon as it is made.  For those of you who will support Shab and me, thank you in advance.  Tell your friends too!  Your help is much appreciated.

In baseball news, tonight is the first game of the World Series between the Tampa Bay Rays and Philadelphia Phillies.  Tonight’s starting pitchers will be Cole Hamels for the Phillies and Scott Kazmir for the Rays.

Prediction: A close one, pitcher’s duel.  Phillies 3, Rays 1

Is Oagal back?   Some of you may know this already, but Oagalthorp has been visiting ACP chat recently, as well as making a weird post on the ACP site.  I doubt he is fully returning, but hopefully he will come and visit every now and then.  More info coming later (maybe).

It’s Boomer!!

Hey guys.  Very sorry for the long absence, I’m going to keep up with this site more.  In the upcoming weeks you may see some changes to the site.  I will most likely rename it since I’m not Governor of Ice Breaker.  I’m also planning to convert this site to more than CP matters, for example, I plan to discuss sports, music or whatever else I feel like.  So stay tuned.

Ok, a quick news update, there is another ACP leader election (wow, seems like one of the last times I posted I was talking about the previous one).  This one will include many soldiers from Head Admiral up, including Shaboomboom, Rapidy, Cooltiger413, Dr Nono Jr, Jedimaster17, Meggis1234, Lucario98765, Abercrombe29, and Casiusbrutus.  I have given my full support to Shaboomboom, however there are plenty of other qualified choices.  Good luck to everyone!

Sports news: The Phillies are up 3 to 1 against the Dodgers in the NLCS and may clinch the NL Pennant tonight at 5:22 PST, 8:22 EST.  Look for a solid match-up anchored by pitching.  The Phillies’ Cole Hamels, the winner in Game 1, looks to get another win against the Dodgers’ Chad Billingsley.  Until the Phillies’ win last night, the Dodgers were undefeated at home against the Phillies this season.  Look for a better game from Billingsley than we saw in Game 2.

Prediction: Phillies 6, Dodgers 2; Phillies clinch the Pennant

Edit: Phils win 5 to 1 and are going to the World Series for the first time since 1993!  Not a bad prediction, eh?

Also last night was the presidential debate.  I didn’t watch it because of the Phillies game, but based on polls it looks like Barack Obama won handily.
